Madrid, New Mexico is a charming, quirky little artists community that in the 1800's was a rowdy coal mining town. In the 1970's artists of all ilks..made this little town thier home, and breathed new life into the area. In the Summer, melodramas and jazz fests spice up the days and nights, as does Madrids original tavern.
These old mining houses are remnants of tougher days me thinks.
